Camp Get-Along

Camp Get-Along is a year-round day camp for children 3–12 years old, founded by St. John the Evangelist Church and currently jointly operated by St. Peter's and the Diocese of Pennsylvania at the Church of the Crucifixion, 8th and Bainbridge Streets. The mission of the camp is to provide a safe and happy place for children to learn the teachings of Christ through play, song and other creative activities.

Camp is held at the Church of the Crucifixion from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the first Saturday of the month between October and June. A full time summer camp program is also available from July through the second week of August.

Volunteers for the camp are responsible for chaperoning children and engaging them in activities with their peers. Camp activities include drama exercises, singing, dancing arts and crafts, baking and the reading of Bible stories.

Volunteers are needed to:

  • Lead and supervise the children
  • Donate or provide funds toward the purchase of breakfast, snack and lunch food; SEPTA tokens for transportation; or supplies for camp activities
