A Lenten Journey through Grief
March 17 @ 10:00 am - 10:50 am
Grief is a universal experience, one that Jesus himself knew and moved toward, in love. It is the companion of hurt, disappointment, confusion, injustice, betrayal, sickness, death. Are these not also central parts of Christ’s ministry and his journey to the cross?
And yet, people often feel a deep isolation when they grieve. And, when it’s our own loved ones who are grieving, many of us do not know what to say or do. What happens if we, like Christ, do not ignore the grief in our lives and our world, but instead journey through it, together? If there was ever a season to focus on grief, it is Lent. If there was ever a season designed to help us move through grief, it is Lent.
This series is not just for people who are actively grieving. (Though one might suggest we are all always actively grieving in some way!) Our hope is this will be a time for intentional, intergenerational conversation among St. Peter’s members who want to form deeper relationships with one another and with God.
