During the Parish Annual Meeting on January 24, St. Peter’s parishioners will elect two new members to the Vestry. The nominees are Nora Adelmann and Cordelia Biddle.
Nora joined St. Peter’s in Spring 2013. Her St. Peter’s activities include choir, food cupboard, chalice bearer, and co-chairing the steering group for The Way Forward planning process. In the Diocese of Pennsylvania, Nora currently serves on the Call/Transition Committee for the new bishop. In the past, she was on the Finance Committee, coordinated and facilitated Re-membering Community workshops as a member of the Diocesan Transition Team, co-chaired the Diocesan Consultation Team, and organized the participation of twelve parishes in a series of six Transforming Congregations workshops with the Kaleidoscope Institute. In previous parishes, Nora has served on the Vestry and as Rector’s, Accounting, and Junior Wardens; co-chaired rector and curate discernment committees; and led a variety of outreach initiatives. Nora’s day job is with a nonprofit, Quaker-founded organization that serves older adults, with responsibility for governance, strategic planning, and advocacy.
Cordelia is an author and educator, and has been a member of St. Peter’s for twenty years. She has served on the Vestry and as Rector’s Warden, and chaired the Search Committee that called Ledlie. Currently, she’s a member of the Adult Education Committee. On Sundays, Cordelia serves as a Greeter and Lector. She also chairs the Nominations Committee for the Diocese (and is always looking for folks to join its numerous committees). Cordelia is honored and delighted to offer her service on the Vestry, and to have the opportunity to work with Claire and Sean as St. Peter’s continues to embrace its bold, bright future. She gives abundant thanks for her Parish family.
