Christ’s Hands and Heart: Join the Pastoral Care Ministry
There’s a blessing the priest often offers at the end of Sunday worship that asks God to help us to be Christ’s hands and heart in this world. There are so many ways we do this as disciples, and one of them is pastoral care. Some aspects of pastoral care are unique to clergy, but much of this ministry happens in meaningful ways through lay people.
This fall we want to grow the number of lay people involved in our pastoral care ministry. Rev. Sarah will be leading a training to become a licensed Lay Eucharistic Minister in the Diocese. What is a Lay Eucharistic Minister (LEM)? Click here to read more.
We will also hold gatherings later this fall to learn more about general pastoral care skills and practices, including active listening, engaging prayer resources, and supporting others during difficult times.
The Lay Eucharistic Training will be on Sunday, September 29 12:3o-2 p.m. with lunch. This training will be in-person at the Parish House. To register, please click here. We are working to develop a virtual training that meets Diocesan requirements.
If you are interested in learning more, please reach out to Rev. Sarah.
