Sages Gathering

We will gather at 12:30 p.m. in the parlor of 313 Pine St. Bring your lunch if you like. Our special guest this month will be Rev. Rachel Wenner Gardener for a presentation on the famous minister and preacher, Phillips Brooks. If you have not heard of Brooks, you’ve at least heard of the hymn he wrote, O Little Town of Bethlehem. He served right here in our Diocese as Rector of Church of the Holy Trinity in Rittenhouse Square. Not only is Rev. Gardener now rector of the same church as Brooks, but she is also writing a book about Brooks’ life and ministry. As she is quick to tell you, there is so much more to Brooks than this beloved Christmas song. Rev. Gardner and her husband, Rev. John Gardener, are co-rectors of Church of the Holy Trinity.
