When Greg and Katie Duffy welcomed their newest baby this past January, several parishioners trudged through the snow to visit, bearing gifts and home-cooked meals. “It was such a help to have a few dinners taken care of for us,” said the Duffys. “We are so grateful to be part of the St. Peter’s community!”
This act of kindness was orchestrated by St. Peter’s Pastoral Care group, a small band of volunteers who deliver food, visit the sick, and offer assistance to parishioners.
Stacey Auerweck is stepping up as the leader of this ministry, which has been led faithfully over the past 10 years by Jane Banning. Stacey was a recipient of the group’s kindness herself a couple years ago, after an accident. “Sometimes people have a hard time asking for help,” she said. “Or they are embarrassed to have help. I hope they realize there is no judgment. Just compassion and care.”
If you or someone you know in the St. Peter’s community could benefit from Pastoral assistance, please contact Ledlie or Claire. If you have questions or would like to explore the possibility of joining the Pastoral Care group, contact Stacey Auerweck at 215-327-9929 or [email protected].
